This one-of-a-kind maxi skirt is carefully handcrafted from a vintage black tomesode kimono, a formal garment traditionally worn by married women at ceremonial occasions in Japan. Originally commissioned as a custom-made high-end kimono valued at approximately 500,000 JPY (about 3,000 USD), this elegant textile has been beautifully upcycled into a modern, wearable piece of art.

This maxi skirt features an exquisite design of cranes gracefully soaring through golden clouds. The dynamic gold and silver patterns, flowing across the rich black background, evoke the rhythm of nature and create an impression of both elegance and vitality. Especially noteworthy is the exceptionally large depiction of the cranes, a rare and powerful symbol of longevity and life. Made from 100% pure silk, the skirt features a soft, flowing drape and a natural sheen. It is suitable for both formal occasions and sophisticated daily wear. 100% pure silk - lightweight, breathable, and naturally lustrous. Unlined for a light and airy feel (wearing a petticoat is recommended depending on conditions). Adjustable waistband with a 1-meter elastic tape secured by a safety pin for easy size adjustment.
