Grordbort's Manmelter 3600ZX "The Skyraider". This is a 1:1 original from Weta created to raise funds to help those in the Christchurch earthquake in NZ in 2011. This gun was customized by Weta painter Jonny Brough and signed by Greg Broadmore. I hope this will go to a good home and bring as much joy to the next owner as it did for me.

The Skyraider customised raygun has drawn its inspiration from the real life Douglas A-1 (formerly AD). Like Dr Grordbort's it was somewhat of an anachronism in that it was a piston engined, propeller driven plane in the jet age. It did long and faithful duty with the US Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force was also adopted by the British Royal Navy, the French Air Force and others. Based on a limited edition metal-and-glass raygun from Dr Grordbort's, designed by Greg Broadmore, the Skyraider has been given US Navy livery by Weta Workshop paint virtuoso and aircraft afficionado, Jonny Brough.

Starting at Weta in the midst of The Lord Of The Rings frenzy, Jonny has laid final touches to anything from Elven swords to Halo Warthogs. This is an opportunity to own a unique piece of art - signed by the creator of the Dr Grordbort's universe. It comes in a velvet lined steel case with an assortment of accoutrements, thingamabobs and knick-nacks. More information about Dr Grordbort's Rayguns is available on Weta's website.

Please note - while this is a brand new item, it has of course been opened, first to get its paint job and again to have its steel case signed by Greg Broadmore.
