Tether Car Streamlined Land Speed Record Gas Powered Race Car One of a kind

  

For sale a streamlined Tether car built as a Land Speed Record Bonneville race car. This is a very large car, it measures 28" (72 cm) long x 8" (20 cm) wide & it is quite heavy. Made from aluminum & run on a Pulse Jet engine. The head rest behind the cockpit is the only part not aluminum, this a carved very hard wood painted silver. I have never run this car, but I should imagine it would go like a rocket.

I do not remember exactly, but I think it came out of Ohio & was built by an engineer. I also do not know when the car was built, but I believe the engine is late 1940's or early 50's. Even if you do not collect tether cars this a very impressive model to display. But some staining to the aluminum & light scratches which can be polished out & then the car would really look fantastic!
