THIS model tops them all! Offered for your consideration is this incredible 1/10th scale Vought A-7D Corsair II light attack aircraft model. It was built by Vought engineers for use at international air shows, promotional events, and - eventually - for display in their corporate offices. It is painted in the markings of the.

4525th TWW (soon after designated 57th Wing). Based at Luke AFB, the 4525th was the first USAF unit to get the A-7D.

The model reflects A-7D serial number 68-8225... The very-first A-7D delivered to the unit.

Everything about this model is impressive. Approximate length is 56 inches, and the wingspan measures 4 feet.

It is primarily cast resin in construction, with wooden ordnance. And the plane is loaded for bear, as you can see by the pictures. One very unique aspect of this model is that it is wired for lights!

There's a female plug on the belly of the aircraft that obviously powers four lights... A ventral and dorsal anti-collision light, and the formation light on the vertical tail. The plug fitting is unfamiliar to me, but I've been advised that a competent electrician could re-wire for a common fitting, allowing for the lights to work. I was told by former Vought execs that this was the only one of its kind made, and is therefore quite a rare find. The model is in exceptional shape considering its age.

Only two blemishes that I can see... A slight mark on the windscreen, and the starboard-side AIM-9 Sidewinder is missing bottom fin. Both are extremely minor issues, easily fixed... Or not, as neither detracts from the overall beauty of this model.

I've included a photo of this model with a'traditional' 1/48th scale A-7D desktop model sitting on top of it to provide some reference of the incredible size of the model being offered. The 1/48th scale model seen in the photo is not included, the display stand for the 1/10th is. Given the size, complexity and relatively fragile nature of this item, I would prefer it be picked up locally. The item "Vought-Built A-7D Corsair II Display Model 1/10th Scale RARE/One of a Kind" is in sale since Thursday, July 4, 2019.
