Psuedo Fulgurite Rare large one of a kind Heart of the Desert

  
Huge Museum Quality Specimen of Psuedo Fulgurite. It was found in the desert of Northern New Mexico at the foot of a 14,400 volt power line by an electrician there to fix the downed line. This rare formation is due a combination of exceptionally dry weather and high winds that caused the power line to fall. When the extreme high voltage power comes in contact with the parched desert sand, the intense heat melts the earth creating an entirely new mineral glass like formation. Other fulgarites in nature are formed by lighting strikes but are much smaller and less dramatic due to the short duration of the incident. The most common ones are only a few inches long less than a half inch in diameter and hollow where the electricity flowed through it. Frequently they are found on beaches and some can whistle. This particular Fulgurite has extreme value due to it's size, rarity, and particularly unique formation. It is approximately 8 inches by 9 inches and heart shaped.

It weighs 1250 grams or 43.9 ounces. One can see the exit tubes that the electricity flowed through it's during formation. Your imagination can see the aorta and other arteries of massive shocking electrical power flow. Notice the beautiful variegated green coloring of glass from the brown desert sand which is still evident in one of the closeups.

It reminds me of the glass coloration at White Sands New Mexico from the Atomic Bomb Tests of 1945. This is the kind of thing that inspires entire B movie scripts! Touch it, I dare you. The details, texture and structure are clear evidence of it's violent creation. It's shape and size is reminiscent of a giant heart or perhaps an exploded alien brain.
