The medicine poison bottles was always made to be notable and not mistaken with the regular medicine , so they was produced in cobalt blue, green or red colors. And beside the warming colors there was aways skull and bones emblem, so no doubt that there is a poison inside...

This bottle belonged to Dr. William Henry Broadbent-the personal physician to Queen Victoria. It comes from his large collection of Victorian medicine artefacts. A link to the tradition of the memento mori - an object designed to remind us that life is brief and that we should seize the moment while we are here. Since the beginning of time, the skull is been used as a symbol of mortality, victory, the ultimate Memento Mori.
