Newspaper Comic Strip debuted on January 3, 1977 and ran through 2019. Following Stan Lees death in November 2018, the strip continued to be published with Mr. Lees name still credited (Roy Thomas had worked as the ghost writer for Stan Lee on the comic strip since 2000).

The final original newspaper Amazing Spider-Man strip. Lished on March 23, 2019 and all subsequent strips have been reprints, with no announced plans to revive the series.

Story arcs in the newspaper strip varied in length (one story-line ran for 7 months) but most ran for 8 to 12 weeks. While the strip featured the same characters as the comic book, the story-lines were nearly all originals and did not share the same continuity. The Newspaper strip re-told the Origin of Spider-Man beginning with the October 4th and concluding with the October 28, 1977 strips. These are INCLUDED in this Offer.

For sale is the FIRST COMPLETE YEAR of the Daily AND Sunday Newspaper Comic Strip 6 daily black & white and 1 Sunday full color strips per week beginning with the first strip published on January 3, 1977, through and including the strip published on January 1, 1978 (6 strips x 52 weeks plus the odd 12/31/77 Daily and 1/1/78 Sunday = 364 strips). Each daily comic strip was carefully clipped from the Akron Beacon Journal or Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Ensuring that all art and story-line were preserved. They have been mounted with crystal clear, premium quality, archival photo corners (no adhesives involved that might damage the ink-on-newsprint) on 100% Acid Free 11 inch x 17 inch Tabloid-Size Backing Boards. Backing boards are produced with a 3% alkaline buffer throughout and maintain a pH of 8.0+ to ensure preservation of the newsprint strips. 6 daily strips on the obverse side and 1 Sunday strip on the corresponding reverse side of each backing board, are placed in 11" x 17". Crystal-clear, Tabloid-Size, archival quality sleeves.

The Sheet Protectors are acid-free polypropylene, archival safe and will not lift the ink from the newsprint. Each Sheet Protector has a 3-hole-punched clear binding edge, and the 52 sheets (78 pages with 4 strips per page) are secured in a 2 inch, 3-ring, Landscape Orientation Tabloid-Size Binder.
