Greco-Kushan 3rd Century Frieze - EXQUISITE DETAIL & CRAFTSMANSHIP
A rare grey schist frieze depicting Buddha, Cupid, and devotee under decorative arches attired in Hellenistic wardrobe (except nude Cupid). Hellenistic Gandharan style of the early 3rd century AD with hints of Indus style to follow in the 4th century. 10½" upper length x 9½" lower length, 4¼ in height, 4 chips at base repaired with original material, weathered at high points otherwise in excellent condition with even earthern find soil.
