This one-of-a-kind pair of rabbit sculptures was created as part of an early studio exploration of the Water Rabbit series. Produced in iridescent Rainbow PLA filament, each sculpture developed its own completely unique color transition during the printing process - making exact repetition impossible. The golden rabbit and the turquoise-green rabbit exist only in this specific form as a single studio edition pair.

The flowing surfaces and quiet upward posture of the rabbits were inspired by the symbolic imagery associated with the Year of the Water Rabbit - often connected with sensitivity, peace, intuition, and subtle transformation. Together, the sculptures create a sense of dialogue and balance, making them feel less like decorative figurines and more like companion artworks. This pair works especially well as. A symbolic gift for a couple. A meaningful anniversary or Valentine's Day gift. A unique art object for a personal space. You can view the full project and the original digital sculpture on my Monaco Felice studio website.

Each rabbit sculpture measures 125 mm in length approx. 5 inches and weighs about 60 g (2.2 oz). This particular pair was produced using specialty Rainbow PLA filament and finished with protective varnish. The filament creates unique flowing color transitions that make each figurine visually one of a kind. However, the material is also lighter and more brittle than standard PLA used for most 3D prints.

Because of this, the sculptures are best suited for display and collecting purposes. Each sculpture begins as an original digital artwork, carefully developed with attention to form, balance, and overall composition. 3D printing is used as a tool to bring the form into the physical world - similar to how traditional sculptors use casting or carving. Each piece is individually hand-finished, giving the surface a distinct character shaped by the final stage of the process. The result is not a mass-produced object, but a carefully crafted art piece that carries both digital precision and human touch. A huge advantage of digital sculpture and 3D printing is the ability to produce the same form in a wide range of sizes. Unlike cast sculptures, which are typically made in a fixed size that cannot be changed.

PLA filament is one of the most popular and safe materials used in 3D printing. PLA is a biodegradable, biocompatible, and renewable thermoplastic polyester derived from natural sources. It is safe to handle, odorless, and does not emit harmful substances, making it suitable for everyday use. At the same time, FDM 3D printing technology also has its limitations, such as the inability to achieve a perfectly clean and completely smooth surface.

Because the object is built layer by layer, subtle layer lines and slight surface transitions may be visible upon close inspection (please see photos). However, I do my best to ensure the highest possible quality of each piece. Each sculpture is an original work created by me and marked with my personal signature - a unique logo applied as a small, high-quality resin print. All pieces are made in my own workshop, typically to order. This is not mass production, and each sculpture remains a distinctive, artist-made object.

Each piece is part of an independent artistic practice, not industrial production. If you see my sculptures offered elsewhere - especially at unusually low prices or in large quantities - they are most likely unauthorized copies or scams. Sculptures made from PLA or resin do not require any special care. Simply avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as over time, like most plastics, the material may become dry and more brittle. To clean dust or light dirt, use a soft cloth with warm water.

For unpainted surfaces, isopropyl alcohol (IPA) can be used carefully. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or other aggressive substances on painted surfaces, as they may damage or dissolve the paint or protective coating. The same care applies to resin sculptures. The main difference is that resin pieces are typically painted or coated, so they should be cleaned only with a soft cloth and water. When treated with care as an art object, the sculpture will continue to bring enjoyment for many years.
