Zubeng Forge knives are handmade by Master Rich Chen, who forges Tamahagane Steel using the traditional Japanese smelting method dates back some 1500 years. Each knife is handmade from the long process of smelting, folding, forging, heat treating, and hand-polishing. The knife features the extremely sharp Tamahagane steel ground on both sides with a beautiful exotic wood handle with mosaic pins on the handle.

Tamahagane is a high quality metal made in the Japanese tradition. The word "tama" means "round and precious, " like a gem or jewel. The word "hagane" means steel.
